Kind friends

We had dinner with some friends the other day.  Their children are older than mine, but they have such compassionate hearts.  I pray that our children turn out to be kind to all - even the little ones.

Breken and Jeremy are playing the playstation.

Anistin and Jenna are horsin' around!

Ever since we visited Jeremy at his home, ALL Breken wants to do is have him come over or go over to Jeremy's house.  Did I mention that Jeremy is an active senior and has plenty on his plate?  Well, he is and he does.
So, to work on slowing the constant nag of Breken asking for Jeremy all of the time, we made a deal.  If Breken comes home with blues or greens (behavior codes for great/good days) then we will invite Jeremy over to play on the playstation.  Breken can do pretty much anything he wants to if he puts his mind to it.  Well, two weeks of great days resulted in an invite to Jeremy to come over.  Fingers crossed that he could and he did!  Miss Jenna came too to play with Anistin.  Didn't I tell ya these kids are great!

New belt

Breken started karate back in the fall.  We were not for sure if this was going to be a good thing.  Why?  We did not want Breken thinking he was some master karate kid and using his moves for the wrong reasons.  However, he has learned so much and does not bust out with any moves in negative ways.  A few weeks ago, Breken received a new belt.  It was kind of neat and I really did not understand the big deal.  But when the instructor bowed, took the old belt off and then put the new belt on, it took on a new meaning.  A meaning that my baby is slowly growing up and he is slowly moving away from being my little guy.  Breken bowed and recited some kind of karate lingo and then that was it.  My little guy moved up a level and struts his new belt with such pride.  We are so proud B - way to go!

The Big 4-0

When one of our friends turns 40, we celebrate big!  We work on a surprise party, shirts, and a plan to fool the person into thinking that we are not doing anything.  Then we show up in matching shirts, play it off like all we are doing is something boring and then BAM - we surprise her with a huge party!  It is rather neat.  I think the best thing is the friends that throw the parties.  We are all so different and bring many different ideas, but the main focus is the person who we are celebrating.  Friends are hard to come by and I so fortunate that I am surrounded by the wonderful ladies that are in my life.
Megan celebrated her 40 with friends, family, and even strangers:)  If you ever get to meet her, she is so much fun and so calm;0)  She really does bring out the best in others and I am so blessed to have in her in my life.  Did I mention that she is super talented?  Well, she is!  She has decorated the majority of the items in my house and is always reliable when I need a unique gift for a friend.  Happy late 40th.....please remember that mine is in 7 years....:)

P.S.  You will soon notice that Megan and her husband and 2 boys are big hunters!

Mrs.  Megan

The point of this was the saying above:)

All the hotties

It said - How do you like her 40 year old rack?

This was fun to explain to the children!?!
I am blessed to have friends that are so talented!  One of my dear friends, Lauren, does amazing cakes.  She rocks the desserts!  Perk up, 40 is not so bad!  What a cake.  It not only looked great, but it was a huge hit!  Thanks, Lauren!

This cake was done Lauren Bassett.  She does cakes on the side.  Her  email is laurenashleybaker@yahoo.com.
She is a rock star teacher and an amazing cake designer.  Check her out - you won't be sorry;0)
